In the year 1981, when he was pursuing his studies at Birla college, he took on the post of the president of NSUI. He undertook a lot of import tasks during this period. Moving forward to the year 1983 to 1991, he became the president of Maharastra for NSUI. This was the period when the leader within Mr. Hindurao was being nurtured. He undertook a great number of student activity and performed the duties entrusted on him by NSUI with great vigor, while at the same time setting up a mark for his individual self.
Hailing from a deeply rooted farmer family, Shri Hindurao has always had a soft corner for farming and everything relevant to it. And this has enormously influenced his work as a leader. He has worked vigorously for the Krushi Utpanna Bazar Samiti and this is what further molded him as a leader. He has spent a great part of his life working hard for the upliftment of farmers. He has always striven to ensure that they had a huge market for them to be capable of selling their produce. He even got funding approved for the market yard with the help of Shri Sharad Pawar Saheb, his political mentor.
Owing to his honesty and his ever-ready attitude, he attained a special place in the hearts of people in the whole of Thane District. He has devoted the longest part of his life working for the betterment of farmers through the Kalyan Krushi Utpann Bazar Samiti – owing to which even to this day Mr. Hindurao’s name and the Kalyan Krushi Utpann Bazar Samiti has almost become a synonym.
In 1997, Shri Hindurao entered the Thane Zilla Parishad. It is easy for one to fathom the fondness he held in the hearts of the Thane people, for almost a tenure of 10 years, he was elected from various constituencies of Thane District.
In the year 2003, seeing his utmost devotion to the people and his capability of getting things done, the Nationalist Congress elected him on the post of Secretary. Furthermore, his work attained a higher dimension after securing an electoral win by a huge margin in the year 2007’s Zilla Parishad elections. He worked as the Paksh Nirikshak for the 2003 Sangli Municipal Elections. In the year 2007, he got appointed as the General Secretary for the Nationalist Congress party. He strove hard for the people in the Flash floods of 26th July 2005. In the year 2008, he was elected as a member of the Thane District Planning Committee. Through this, Shri Hindurao showcased his credibility, his flawless work through the Thane Zilla Parishad’s finance committee further got him elected as Chairman of CIDCO.
Though known for his political endeavors, Shri Hindurao has worked diligently as a social worker too. He established the Priyajan Vikas Mandal in the year 1985 and through this medium he paved the way for a lot of social activities. Priyajan Vikas Mandal undertook social celebratory activities such as Shiv Jayanti and Dr. Bababa Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti. On 12th December, the day of Shri Sharad Pawar’s birthday, Shri Hindurao organizes the Sadhu Sharad Mahotsav. His Priyajan Gungarao Samiti awards and appreciates talent. He has also been the Chairperson for other social organizations such as the Priyajan Navratri Utsav Committee, Murbad and others.
